“Mmhmm...was getting cold....” Jun retorted sleepily, clanging to Carth as he drew closer. “Fire keeps predators away...or at least at a distance. Something about fire just freaks em out..i don’t know...I’m smart enough to know better I suppose.” the dragon continued, licking her lips as she wrapped her tail around her feet; shivering as the frigid wind swept past them once more. As Carth mused of his plans of getting more firewood, Jun groggily nodded once more. The tiny dragon stifling another yawn. “Mmkay. Good thinking.” she mumbled, her ears twitching as Carth mentioned Astella. Jun turned her brown eyes towards the male, watching him walk away as he suggested getting some medicine ready for her mistress. “Will do.” she called, looking to the kettle curiously. She trotted closer, rising up onto her back legs as she peered into the hot pot; seeing the small dribble of bubbling water that remained at the bottom. Jun fluttered her wings, taking off into the cold air as she glided over to the wagon; landing upon the bench before scrambling inside to fetch another cup. When she returned, Jun carefully dipped the cup into the hot kettle, perking her ears as she heard Carth return with the wood. She fluttered out of his way, being careful not to spill the boiling liquid within. As he left to go wake Astella, Jun carefully set the cup down, returning to the wagon as she shuffled through the items within- retrieving a select handful of herbs before returning to the cup of water. Jun carefully dropped the herbs into the water, swirling the water around within the cup so better steep the tea.
When Carth rounded the wagon and moved towards Pol and Astella, the golden unicorn remained asleep. Carth's repeated calling however roused the male' his ears twitching as his golden eyes opened. Pol's awareness quickly rushed back to the unicorn, his neck straightening as he looked towards Carth- ears pointed towards the courier. As Carth knelt besides him and offered his hand, Pol snorted softly; pushing his nose up against Carth's offered hand in greeting. As Carth checked on Astella, Pol turned his head- yawning heavily as he again snorted; struggling to wake up entirely. Pol's eyes looked after Carth as he shifted and moved back to the wagon, remaining where he lay as instructed. When Carth returned however, the unicorn could sense the male's worry.
~ The darkness that surrounded Astella again swallowed her thoughts; the female unsure when she has stopped falling from the scene before. She shuddered, feeling her bare feet gently touching a grassy ground beneath her, as a sky of stars opened up above her. Astella blinked in awe, her eyes still wet with tears as she gazed up at the colorful nebula’s and beautiful moons that hovered high above. Her ears twitched, feeling a gust of wind brush past her as her long hair flowed elegantly upon its breath. Slowly, Astella could see the world around her appear to her. The female standing upon a grassy hill; the dark grass swaying silently within the breeze for as far as her eyes could see. Few trees scattered here and there upon the horizon.. Astellas tail twitched, her attention being drawn behind her as she gasped softly; the female looking upon a massive spout of water. Behind her was a sight to behold, the massive lake dwarfing Astella, unable to see its opposite shore. Within its center, a spout of water fell from the heavens above. Astella's emerald eyes trailing upwards, following the water's fall before she could no longer see any higher- the waterfall seeming to fall from impossibly high within the heavens above. Slowly, Astella moved closer to the water's shore; the silent waterfall baffling the female. She paused at the water's edge, her eyes shifting down to look upon her reflection in the lax waters- the water's surface strangely calm for the large amount of water that fell into its body. “Where am I?”
“Can you see?”
Astella's ears perked, her eyes darting around in surprise as she tempted to detect the source of the voice. The voice sounding soft and distant, echoing within the calm air around her from every direction. “Hello?” Astella called, blinking curiously as she furrowed her brows.
“Can you see?” The voice was closer this time, Astella whirling back around to face the water; her eyes widening in awe as she looked upon the orb of light that hovered above the water. Astella blinked in amazement, the orb being no bigger then a softball; hovering in place a sparkles of soft golden light fluttered from its frame. Slowly, Astella drew closer to it. Stepping into the calm waters as she moved up to the hovering orb of light. The aura the orb emitted was calming and soothed the female's fretful fears and worries; the entire world she found herself in washing away all pain and concern. As though she was fully at peace. Astella blinked curiously, looking at the orb to see it was a stone or some sort. The dollar sized gem hovering at the orbs center; casting out its heavenly and beautiful light into the darkness that filled the strange, calming land.
“Its so beautiful....” Astella whispered, titling her head as she took a closer look at the hovering stone. Her eyes flexed in thought, able to see several cracks within the beautiful stone. “There's pieces missing.....” Astella breathed, drawing closer as she noted the discoloration within the stone's core. “Is...its its center missing too?” Astella inquired to herself; her ears perking as once more the sound of a female crying could be heard. Astella straighten herself, her eyes shifting around in tempts to seek out the distressed girl.
“I'm broken” the sad voice whispered, its upset tone echoing within the quiet air. “I can't be fixed.” the voice continued. Astella frowned, her ears rotating upon her head as she took a few steps back towards the shore, her tail swaying behind her as she struggled to locate the voice. Wanting to help as its sad tone again made Astella want to cry. There was something about the voice, the way it sounded to Astella stirred something deep within her that she couldn't put her finger on. Something about it felt familiar. Suddenly, the hair's upon Astellas tail began to rise, the sensation of a presence behind her consuming her awareness. Astella kept her back to the presence, afraid to turn around. Her body trembling as a shaken breath escaped past her lips, her hands trembling at her sides.
'Why am I so scared?' Astella thought to herself, her pupils flexing as thick torrents of fog appeared before her face with each breath. The temperature beginning to drop dramatically around her; frost began to crawl over the grassy ground, the edges of the massive body of water beginning to freeze. 'I...I don't want to look....' Astella fretted, the presence behind her holding a dark and unsettling aura yet Astella felt compelled to draw towards it. Slowly, Astella turned her head, her gaze uneasily shifting back over her shoulder- looking back towards the figure that now stood in the water's behind her. Astella's eyes widened in horror, a deep gasp sounding from Astella as her pupils fell into thin slits of black. Her legs wobbled beneath her, the color falling away from Astella's face as her eyes locked upon the tear-filled emerald eyes that gazed pitifully towards her. Standing before the glowing stone being the image of a woman, the female around Astella's height and sporting a head of long brown hair; her face darkened by the light of the stone before her. As Astella's eyes locked with the other female's, the girl smiled weakly- Astella's heart tightening painfully within her chest as tears fell from her own eyes
“Please, don't save me.” ~
A deep gasp sounded from Astella as her eyes suddenly snapped open, the female bolting upright as deep, shaken breaths rattled her slander frame. For a moment, Astella didn't appear to know where she was or even that Carth was seated before her; her wide emerald eyes looking animalistic- her pupils slits of black as tears fell from her gaze. As Carth touched her, her pupils widened, flexing for a short moment before she seemed to suddenly realize Carth was there. “O-oh....Carth....” Astella whispered, tears continuing to fall from her eyes unbeknown to her. “Wh-what's wrong?” Astella mused faintly, her voice sounding small and weak; her glassy eyes continued to pour tears.
