As Carth ruffled her hair, Astella giggled softly, her emerald eyes peering out past the curtain of black he had placed before her gaze. The female's smile grew as her ear lowered affectionately- her eyes closing happily as the male's fingers trailed along her jawline. Her heart offering a soft flutter within her chest as a satisfied sigh passed her soft lips. As he spoke, her ear perked towards him, remaining relaxed within his grasp before he withdrew his hands to emphasize a point. Astella's eyes watched his hands, a silver sounding giggle bubbling within her frame, her eyes closing as Carth wrapped his arms snugly around her cranium.
“I promise not to steal your soul if you somehow get a picture of me.” Carth's words caused Astella's smile to grow, her tail thumping her thigh happily.
“I'll hold you to that.” Astella chimed playfully. Her eyes opened as the male gently cupped her jaws within his hands; pressing his lips tenderly upon her forehead. Astella's eyes fell shut as Carth kissed her brow, a soft blush painting her cheeks. Her gaze again returned to the male's face as he returned her to her comfortable place upon his chest, a sweet smile curving her lips once more. After getting comfortable, Carth's hands again found Astella's head- rubbing her ear and crown tenderly. Astella's eyes fluttered happily shut, a pleasing shiver scaling her frame as she enjoyed the affection she was receiving. Her own hand returning to Carth's crown, gently combing his hair as she thoughtfully twirled his hair between her fingers as she continued speaking.
“I wonder why she didn't tell you.” Astella nodded lightly as Carth spoke; she too in wonder of the subject. Even so, Hana was no longer alive and Astella may never know the many things her mother refrained from telling her or why. As they fell into a thoughtful silence, Astella found her awareness beginning to drift back and forth between her alert state of mind and a very welcoming sleep. When Carth began to groggily speak once more, Astella's eyes opened sleepily. A loving gaze glimmering within her enchanting eyes as she peered up towards Carth. She regarded his smile, her own growing tenderly as she listened to him. As he spoke of traveling to Hartlen Hill and seeing her family, Astella's heart tightened lightly at the thought. The thought of traveling to Fuu was exciting and new, yet the thought of traveling across the Spine to inquire of her blood relatives seemed very intimidating to the female. At the same time, the thought of being with her mother's family was too tempting to pass up the fantasy. Astella smiled sweetly as she dwelt upon the thought, her eyes sparkling as she returned Carth's curious gaze.
“That would be nice.” Astella breathed softly. Her ear perked slightly as Carth looked down towards her once more, her pupils flexing curiously as she sensed the twist in energy that rippled through her aura.
“...Do you think they'd like me?”
Astella blinked curiously as Carth inquired of this. Her eyes holding his sleepy gaze as her smile grew tenderly. Astella pulled her hand up from the male's crown, gently resting it upon one of Carth's own upon her head. The female holding the male's hand lovingly as she nuzzled his palm. “I know they will.” Astella breathed, her eyes falling shut as she listened to Carth's heart beat, drinking in his scent as her sweet smile remained. “Cause I do.” the female added softly, feeling the male relax greatly besides her. Her hand remaining upon his as his arms began to relax; following his as his hand fell to rest upon her neck. Carth slipping away into the welcoming arms of sleep. Astella's eyes remained close as she noted Carth was now asleep, listening to his slow, relaxed breaths as his heart continued to beat within her sensitive ear. After a time, Astella's heavy eyes opened, looking up towards Carth's face as she watched him sleep for a time. Astella's smile remained plastered to her soft lips as she regarded the male's slumbering face, a soft, content sigh escaping her as the hide tarp above them tugged lightly within a gust of warm wind. Astella blinked slowly, her hand remaining upon his own as her eyes fell closed. The female having planed on getting up to tend to the unruly unicorn and cut the tree she had brought back, yet as she tempted to muster the motivation to rise, the female surcame to her own weariness. Her illness from the other day, plus the mental magick attack she had endured not too long ago drained a grand deal of energy from Astella. Carth's comforting, protective presence coaxing Astella's skittish soul to calm and relax and for the first time in years, feel safe and at ease. The female falling asleep shortly after Carth had.
They day continued on as the two remained asleep, curled against one another comfortably within the wagon's offered privacy. Pol and Jun remained within the oasis shallows. The blue dragon regarded the bite wound upon the unicorn's flank- watching the glittering gold blood continue to ooze from the torn flesh. “Geez, Agrippa got you good.” Jun noted, her ears twitching as the wind moaned over the oasis around them. The dragon watching as soft ripples moved over the waters surface from the resting unicorn. Jun sighed in thought, her large brown eyes returning to Pol's injury. “Alright, I’m going to see what I can do about this.” Jun noted aloud, Pol's ears twitching towards Jun as she spoke, yet his eyes remained at half mast. The male drifting in and out of consciousness as the weary steed lingered upon the verge of falling asleep. Jun took a closer look at the wound, licking her lips in thought as she theorized she'd be able to at least seal the wound and prevent any further bleeding- yet she herself didn't have the energy to heal the wound entirely. Jun held out her paws before her face, regarding her palms as she flexed her clawed hands. After a moment, a soft light began to glow- a growing heat gathering within her paws as she looked to the torn flesh she was preparing to burn closed. Without any real warning, Jun reached out and pressed her hot palms against the unicorns golden pelt. Steam quickly rising up from the contact between the burning heat of Jun's paws and the unicorns tender and rather sensitive flesh. Pol's eyes shot open, the male's head swimming back as he pushed Jun off of his flank with his nose- a pained grunt escaping Pol. The male grumbled in disapproving tone, looking to the burnt flesh that continued to steam as Jun flopped into the oasis waters. Jun squeaked softly as she was shoved from her place upon the unicorn, swimming to the surface before climbing her way back to the bleeding wound. “You JERK!” Jun seethed in distaste. The dragon gingerly beginning to shake the water from her scales and wings. “I hate the water....I need to burn your cut closed or you're going to keep bleeding out like you are currently. And, tell me if I’m wrong, but I believe you DONT want predators to know we are here...right?” Jun growled, glaring back at the male as he huffed heavily. Pol's lip twitched as he hesitated, his golden eyes shifting between the wound and the dragon as her hands again began to heat up. After a long pause, Pol sighed heavily- turning his head away once more as his ears turned back towards the dragon. The flesh upon his flank twitching uneasily in anticipation. Jun sighed slowly, focusing once more before again reaching out to the tender flesh. Again, Pol's torn skin would burn and steam as the dragon's heated paw moved over the injury- burning the skin closed. A stifled whine sounded from Pol, refraining from jerking his head back as his leg kicked out to his side into the water. The splash startling Jun only for but a moment before continuing with her work. The dragon finishing her task as quickly as she was able; flicking her paws off to the sides as they would again begin to cool. “There...” Jun mused, waiting till the heat had gone from her palms before patting the unicorns hide. Pol sighed shakily, turning his head around once more as his ears twitched back and forth, looking upon the red and irritated flesh around his closed wound. The male huffed, his nostrils flaring as he gently nudged Jun's head with his soft nose. Jun smiled, rubbing the male's nose before he pulled away to again rest. Jun nodded lightly, flapping her wings at her side before taking to the air- returning to the fire side. The dragon landed upon the warm sand, her large brown eyes looking to the kettle as she sniffed the air curiously. Her stomach grumbled hungrily, Jun's mouth watering as she carefully crawled up onto the kettle’s lip. The curious dragon peered down at the remaining soup, licking her lips before climbing inside the kettle entirely- the dragon sitting within the center of the bubbling soup as she eagerly began to eat at her leisure. The small dragon making quick work of the remnants of the broth. Though there was no meat, Jun enjoyed the soup. The dragon enjoying eating anything regardless of its origins. Jun up to eat or try anything at least once.
After cleaning out the inside of the kettle, Jun sighed heavily- patting her swollen gut as she rested within the bottom of the clean cast iron pot. Jun wrapped her tail around herself as she sat upon her feet, curling up lazily as she yawned deeply. The dragon's large eyes slowly falling shut as her head nodded sleepily and after a time, her nose bumped against the kettles bottom as the small dragon drifted off to sleep. Her stomach full and the cooling kettle keeping her comfortably warm as the howling winds above slowly lulled the dragoness off to sleep.
